Privacy Policy

The short version: DayLock stores your data locally on your device. We don't sell your data, we don't track you across apps, and we collect only the bare minimum needed to keep the app running.
1. Who We Are
DayLock is operated by Simdan Labs Ltd ("we", "our", "us"). If you have questions about this policy, you can contact us at daylock@simdanlabs.com.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Data stored on your device only
The following data is stored locally on your device and is never sent to our servers:
- Time blocks, schedules, and day plans
- Templates and recurring block configurations
- Alarm preferences and sound selections
- Analytics data (completion rates, streaks, trends)
- Category configurations
- App settings and preferences
2.2 Data processed by third parties
When you use the AI Day Planner feature (Pro), your prompt text is sent to our AI provider to generate your plan. We do not store these prompts on our servers. The AI provider processes them according to their own privacy policy and does not use your data for model training.
2.3 Payment data
Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We never receive, process, or store your payment card details. We receive only a confirmation of your subscription status.
2.4 Analytics and crash reporting
We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage data to improve the app, including:
- App version and OS version
- Crash logs and error reports
- Feature usage frequency (e.g., how often AI Planner is used)
- General device type (e.g., iPhone, Android)
This data is not linked to your identity and cannot be used to identify you personally.
3. Data We Do NOT Collect
- Your name, email address, or phone number (no account required)
- Your location data
- Your contacts, photos, or files
- Data from other apps on your device
- Advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking data
4. Cloud Backup
If you use the optional cloud backup feature, your data is encrypted before leaving your device and stored securely. Only you can decrypt your backup data — we cannot read it.
5. Calendar Access
If you choose to import calendar events, DayLock reads your device calendar only when you explicitly trigger an import. Calendar data is processed locally and is never sent to any server.
6. How We Use Your Data
We use the limited data we collect to:
- Provide and improve the DayLock app
- Fix bugs and improve stability
- Understand which features are most useful
- Process your subscription status
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. The only data shared with third parties is:
- AI provider: Prompt text when using the AI Day Planner (processed, not stored)
- App stores: Subscription validation with Apple/Google
- Crash reporting: Anonymous crash data with our analytics provider
8. Data Retention
Your schedule data lives on your device. If you delete the app, your local data is deleted. If you use cloud backup, you can delete your backup data at any time from within the app.
9. Children's Privacy
DayLock is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your data
- Opt out of analytics collection
- Export your data (available with DayLock Pro)

11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or on our website. Continued use of DayLock after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
